The Economics of Milk

The price of milk is going up!!!!!!!

My family goes  through milk like it's on tap. We have an extra refrigerator in the garage primarily to hold our weekly supply of milk.  My grocery shopping destination is mostly determined by where milk is on sale.

This terrible news comes via CBSNews marketwatch. The report states that March will be the highest peak in milk and cheese products ON RECORD! How will my family survive??

Perhaps it is time to buy a cow or goat to save some money? We do already participate in 4H. Granted all we have is one badly behaved bunny named Lance- A-Lop, but perhaps we could make owning real livestock work..........

Yeah, who am I kidding our livestock would probably get loose and wreak havoc on our community like this.

HAHA! We don't drink much milk in our house- Dylan has eczema and dairy seems to trigger outbreaks pretty bad..and I'm not much of a milk person myself. However, I still support your cow/goat endeavor and think that should the cash cow wreak havoc on your community- it would make a great blog series and youtube sensation! lol

Just wait until the Rabbit goes to the fair in April. There will be live updates on Twitter, just to establish alibi, of course!
Lance-A-Lop. I love it! Our rabbit is Pet, the Bunny. Yup.
We drink a lot of milk some weeks and next to none others. It all depends on how much mac and cheese Mini decides to consume in a week's time. We use milk more for that than cereal.

Hey if the name works it works. Mac and cheese is seriously the best invention ever.
We go through two gallons a week, since we buy raw the price hike will not effect us. I just feel for the farmer who will not see any of the profit being made from the selling of his milk. Thanks for sharing on Tuesdays With a Twist, I would look into your states laws for raw milk, so much better for you.
I know the farmer is always the one who gets the short shift. That's a really good idea though about the raw milk. Thanks!.
If milk goes up in cost, I am going to have to take out a second mortgage! My two year old daughter drinks so much milk it's kind of INSANE! #throwbackthursdaylinkup

You could get a goat..... haha!
I love a good cold glass of milk in the morning with breakfast and I have even been known to order a glass of milk while out in public and having dessert with friends. I mean, can't a 43 year old order milk instead of coffee? Geez! Love the story and the visuals...nothing like a little chuckle before bed on a Friday night! Thanks for linking up at #throwbackthursdaylinkup

Do you remember the old ad campaign, "milk does a body good'? Your comment just reminded me of that :) Pishaw, ever too old to eat milk and sweets! Your friends should try it. It's definitely better than coffee with sweets. Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend!
