Guest Post: Easter Outfit Inspiration For Kids
A while ago I came across an adorable blog, Well Dressed Peanuts crafted by the amazing Lisa.
I love how she puts together such fabulous outfits for herself (she always looks so cute in all of her pics) as well as her darling little "peanut" Amalia Rose.
Since it is now officially the beginning of Spring and we are just a few short weeks away from Easter I asked her to come and guest post today some Easter outfit inspiration for our littlest peanuts. You will be impressed with what she came up with. Super cute and affordable!
Turning things over to Lisa now. Enjoy!
Man-Day Post: Things Your Computer Guy Won't Tell You
It's time for this week's Man-day post by Jensguy.
I am an IT expert, I own my own consulting company and work with small and large businesses helping them to initially build their computer infrastructure and then servicing all of their technology when things go wrong. I have worked in this industry for 15 years now and I am familiar with just about every level of tech support someone is likely to encounter.
Here are a few things that every person you have ever asked to fix your computer wished you knew, but are probably never going to come right out and tell you. So I will.
1. There are no secrets. When someone is servicing your computer, they will ask some questions. If they are good at what they do, they will not ask stupid embarrassing questions. Please tell them the truth. They will find out eventually anyway, all they want to do is save you and them some time, which is important if you are paying them. If you download questionable coupon software, they will know, if you spy for the Russians, they will likely figure that out as well. If you have a folder of boudoir photography, don't leave it in an easily accessible place, especially if it is your nephew working on your computer.
Some Ways To Fool Your Kids On April Fool's Day
Next week we celebrate the time honored tradition of freaking people out as part of a National Holiday. I have amassed some of the best the internet has to offer in the hopes of helping you craft your own April Fool's Day plans.Common Core? Lets Start With Common Sense!
This is nine-year-old Kamryn Renfro:When her best friend, elven-year-old Delaney Clements had a relapse of Neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer requiring chemotherapy, Kamryn shaved her head as a sign of solidarity with Delaney.
A Guide To Creating Magic
Today I created magic, not the sort that would help me fly to far away lands or the kind of magic that can vanquish the villain.
This kind of magic occurs only when you use your imagination.
My 6 year old daughter Rebekah and I created a fairy garden.
Nailed It Challenge: Avengers Cupcakes
Time for the Great Avengers Pinterest inspired cupcake reveal.
A few things:
1. After meticulously reviewing the picture from every angle in order to make sure I knew all of the colors and every nuance of the picture I decided I needed supplies!
2. With a visit to my local 99 cent store, I was equipped with my very own version of a cake decorating bag and different sized tips. Yippee! I have never owned such a thing. PISHAW to those who say we need to pay the big bucks in order to make great looking cupcakes. I will prove that wrong!
Man-day Post: The Boys (and Girls) of Summer
It's time for this weeks Man-day post by Jensguy.
This picture represents the entirety of my Little League playing career.
Some things about that:
1. Notice that we weren't named the Dodgers, Bears, or anything like that. We were Lin's Groceries. We matched up against teams like Chuck's Auto and Red Rock RV Resort. Also, note the blue jeans and the quality of our apparel.

Seven Of The Most Terrifying Children's Movies Ever Made
Nowadays, a children's movie is usually one that young children will enjoy and leave having learned something and feeling happy about the world. If my children had to watch the movies that I did as a child they would be scarred for life, much like their mother is. Take a look and tell me if you agree that these movies shouldn't ever be shown to young children. I'll do my best to make this spoiler free just in case you want to disregard my pleadings and inflict these on your children.

Four Things That Aren't Helping Today's Youth
As a mother of young children and one preteen, there are quite a few things that I see in our pop culture and through the media that really bother me. They bother me because they are destructive and mess with the heads of our children.I've compiled a brief list of four things and people that I wish would just go away.
Tips For Picking Your March Madness Bracket
It's time for this week's Man-Day Installment from Jensguy (AKA Trent). So, if you have ever lacked the desire to fill out a bracket sheet for the NCAA Basketball Tournament, there now are one billion reasons why. Billionaires Dan Gilbert and Warren Buffet are offering $1,000,000,000 for the person who picks a perfect bracket this season. Of course there are better odds that the Nigerian Prince email scam will actually pay off for you, but it does add some excitement.
For those of us just picking for bragging rights (or for those who just want to show up our spouses,) I have put together some tried and true tips to help those who have not watched every game this year with their picks.
The Jen "Nails It" Pinterest Challenge
I am HOOKED on Pinterest!I love the luscious desserts and savory fare that make me drool over their sweet perfection. I covet the fashion and perfectly coiffed hair that seems so easy to copy and incorporate into my busy life. I salute all of the holidays that I never even knew existed. I too will celebrate National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day with all of the gooey goodness displayed in the magical squares of preparation perfection!
Pinterest is like a big happy smorgasbord of the best of everything and I can sample and even put things away for future conquest with a single click.
It's no secret that I am completely time starved. Everything I cook, craft or try to accomplish in a day has to be done with maximum efficiency in mind. When I am on Pinterest, logic and reason forget to inform me that some of this stuff would be impossible for me. Something needs 40 ingredients, two weeks of preparation and ingredients only found in a Moroccan market, I can do that! That Spaghetti sauce with the meat and cheese stuffed pasta that has been passed down for generations until it is embedded in your family's genetic code? I got that, and should be able to knock it out in about 45 minutes.
That Day I Became Like The Cookie Monster...
Store bought sweets don't even compare to homemade so I try really hard to have a few go- to recipes that my family really enjoys and this snickerdoodle recipe is one of them.
This recipe was part of one that I found on allrecipes, but when I first tried it the cookies turned out harder than rocks and ended up in the trash.
I have tweaked it and now it really is perfection in a cookie.
The "Bossy" Debate
I am a mother to three girls and have spent numerous years mentoring girls in both church and secular environments and I have thought long and hard about this quote and the overall discussion surrounding it. I feel Sheryl's message definitely has merit, but that it really needs follow- up.
Eradicating the word bossy from our lexicon doesn't mean that we will instantly foster a society with an amazing amount of girl leaders. This just isn't possible with that type of effort. Furthermore, I have seen young girls order or "boss" other girls around with the intent to hurt and ridicule. This kind of beahvior is not one that should ever be heralded or excused.
Guest Post: Dressing Up Denim
Here on JENerally Informed we like to cover a wide range of topics such as men and minivans, social media stalkers, LEGO and livestock. I think that subject variety is important because none of us are one dimensional. We have, thus far, not discussed fashion. Now I like to look as good as possible, especially when I am wearing jeans, but fashion expert I am not. So I was very excited when I found Megan The Fashionista Momma and she assured me that there are definitely ways to add a little something special in order to rock our jeans. I love how simply and easily she explains dressing up denim.
Turning things over now to the professional, The Fashionista Momma:
What Makes A Man A Hero
Another week's installment of Man-day.This is my grandfather, Ward Harold Jensen:
He farmed, because you either farmed or worked in the Redmond Salt Mines. He married his sweetheart, a schoolteacher named Thelma Stark, and they continued to live in Redmond. He never grew rich, never grew famous, never succeeded in any of the ways that many today might consider true success. That tractor in the background could possibly qualify as his most extravagant material possession.
But what he did do, and what history may never note, is what makes him great.

And She Grew And She Grew
One year ago today I gave birth to my fourth child, Anneliese. She was so very little and not particularly pleased to see any of us. She fussed about her new lodgings quite ferociously for weeks, but how very quickly she became loved by her 3 older siblings and parents. She was hardly ever put down and all of us fought over whose turn it was to hold her.
Then she grew and she grew all through that first year and our family cheered each time she learned to do something new.

Books For Your Little Train Enthusiast
He still loves trains and his goal in life is to become a millionaire early in life so he can pursue his dream of making model trains and inviting people to come and see his creations and be inspired. I seriously do not doubt he will do this.
If you have a little boy like me I thought I would include some of his most favorite books about trains. He still owns these and still takes them out to read although now he has the model train builders 500 page guide as additional "light" reading.

The Best Banana Bread You Are Ever Going To Taste!
I know that I have already shared with you the jewel that was given to me my by Mother-in-law as a wedding gift, my beloved cookbook. Inside this treasure trove of wonderfulness about 15 years ago I discovered a recipe that has made me famous.Yes, I do mean famous. Every time I make this recipe people eat it up post haste and ask how long it took me to craft this piece of awesomeness in a loaf. Well, my banana bread recipe came from my favorite recipe book and specifically from a woman named Danielle. Thank you Danielle!
It is indeed awesome and I have not met a person yet who does not love this simple dessert.
Four Things You May Not Know About The Ukrainian Conflict
What I would like to do for today's Man-day post is to list a few of the most important things relating to the current crisis between Russia and the Ukraine. This event is significant, and does bear some examination for everyone. Keep in mind that these are brief and there is much more that COULD
be discussed, but I am just going to give an overview.
1. The citizens in the Crimea don't just speak Russian, they actually ARE Russian.
