Books For Your Little Train Enthusiast

We have already established my son's love of  Lego, but before this his first love was anything to do with trains. I have spent hours over his 9 year life span finding books online and in the library all about this beloved transportation choice. He can quote facts about trains that impress and astound.

He still loves trains and his goal in life is to become a millionaire early in life so he can pursue his dream of making model trains and inviting people to come and see his creations and be inspired. I seriously do not doubt he will do this.

If you have a little boy like me I thought I would include some of his most favorite books about trains. He still owns these and still takes them out to read although now he has the model train builders 500 page guide as additional "light" reading.

Oh he loves that one! We still quite often compare whether a train or a shark would win in different situations.
Haha! Sounds like a conversation my husband would pull out randomly at the dinner table. I'm going to have to pick up this book for my nephew.
My granddaughter was really into trains when she was little. For years and years. It was fun for me too.

Have a fabulous day. ☺

I cannot tell you the number of times I have literally just sat in my car close to the tracks and watched trains go by with my son. He still likes to do it!
I think my little guy will love trains too- he’s obsessed with and mesmerized by wheels. I love your son’s ambitious nature and have no doubt he can achieve anything he wants, it’s great that you encourage him! And lol @ “light reading”

It starts young, wheels, then machines and just continues on. Thanks my little Caleb is such a sweet and gentle guy. He HAS to be with 3 sisters or his life would be tough. He told me yesterday that he dreads when they start dating because he is going to have to watch the boys!
These look great!! Classics! A couple new ones that boys love are Steam Train, Dream Train & the gorgeous Caldecott Medal book, Locomotive by Brian Floca (for a little older audience, but my four year old loves reading a few pages at a time, reviewing all the parts of the train, etc.) Thanks for these suggestions, I'll need to check them out!

Thanks for the suggestions Becca! I'll have to check them out.
I love this list! I have two train enthusiasts in my house, and there are a few books here that are new to us. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for visiting Blair! I am glad you enjoyed this list of books :)
We've enjoyed many of these train books over the years... I have yet to come across a little boy who isn't interested in trains at all...

i'm so glad you shared this with the Cozy Reading Spot!
