That Day I Became Like The Cookie Monster...

I wish I had the time to craft edible works of art that would leave my family and guests in awe of the dish placed before them. The world I live in though has 3 children running around me and one little crawler who tugs at my pants while I attempt to cook. So I have become the Queen of easy cooking.

Store bought sweets don't even compare to homemade so I try really hard to have a few go- to recipes that my family really enjoys and this snickerdoodle recipe is one of them.

This recipe was part of one that I found on allrecipes, but when I first tried it the cookies turned out harder than rocks and ended up in the trash.

I have tweaked it and now it really is perfection in a cookie.

Soft Snickerdoodle Cookies

1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
Blend wet ingredients until mixed.

In a separate bowl mix together dry ingredients.
2 and 3/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
Blend dry ingredients into the wet and thoroughly mix.

This is the step my kids love to help with:

In a third and somewhat shallow bowl mix 3 tablespoons sugar and 3 teaspoons cinnamon.
Form 1 inch globs of dough into balls and drop into the cinnamon sugar mix and roll until covered.

Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake 10 minutes at 350.

Warning: These cookies are highly addictive and just one is really not enough!

Oh then I think he will like them for sure and if you are anything like me he won't even notice the half a dozen, or so cookies, missing from the batch before he even walks in the door!
I love Snickerdoodle cookies. They rock and then some. And one isn't enough. Not even close.

Have a terrific day. ☺

These are so good, they were a necessary staple to every meal and even in between meals until they were gone.
Oh YUM. Totally pinning for later.

Snickerdoodles are my husband’s absolute favorite and I never ever make them for him- though I do make another of his favorites almost every weekend. I think I’ll pin this post for when he catches me on a good day ;]

You are totally a woman after my own heart!
I am a total cookie [We call them biscuits here in Tasmania] addict. I can't stop at one then I get told off by my wife for eating nearly all of them. Thanks for dropping by my site, much appreciated

In our family, my kids insist that we count out at the beginning of the batch and allot out each of their cookies. This is mainly done so that mommy and daddy don' t eat them all! Great parenting right?
We love snickerdoodles. Thank you so much for linking up to Saturday Dishes Snacks.
I pinned it.

I completely understand what you mean about not having time for amazingly beautiful food, since I've got 3 kids as well, and the oldest is 4. Honestly, though, I'll take a delicious but not beautiful cookie over a gorgeous but not too tasty one any day! And snickerdoodles are a favorite here!
Thanks for sharing at Saturday Dishes- I'm pinning your cookies!

Haha, I'm definitely busy, but it's fun! These were such great recipes, I think I want to make all of them!
My husband's loves these. This could be my new go-to recipe!

Happy to be a part of your fabulous link-up :)
I have found that lots of Snickerdoodle recipes call for too much cream of tartar and taste like it. Yours has just the right amount. And so many recipes the cookies come out hard. I'm going to have to try out your recipe. Thanks for sharing at Saturday Dishes.

Absolutely! I couldn't find one I liked until this batch finally came out right. They are so very good. Hmm, it's been a while so I think I should make a batch today :)
Snickerdoodle cookies are my absolute favorite cookie!!!! Right out of the oven, hot and soft with a tall glass of cold milk. I am so excited that I found this recipe and will definitely be trying it for treat tomorrow night!!! If it wasn't 10:30pm I would start baking right now!
